Fit and Seal Instructions
An annual professional fit test is recommended
The user should conduct a seal check each time the respirator is used by following the below instructions:
oInspect the respirator for tears or damage and discard if discrepancies are found
oEnsure the nosepiece covers and spans the bridge of your nose and covers the chin
oPut the loops around the ears
oMake sure that the mouth and nose are completely covered by the respirator
oMold the nose clip to fit snugly around the bridge of your nose
oCover the respirator with your hands so that air is prevented from passing through the filtered facepiece
oConduct a positive pressure seal check by gently and quickly exhaling to see if the facepiece bulges slightly
oConduct a negative pressure seal check by taking a quick deep breath to see if the facepiece collapses slightly
oIf air leaks out between the face and respirator in either of the above tests, the respirator may not be fully sealed
oIf you feel leakage, readjust the fit of your respirator and try the two tests again
oIf you cannot achieve a proper seal, you are not protected and should not enter a hazardous area
oProperly fitted and worn respirators will ensure minimal leakage around the edges when the user inhales, directing air through the respirators
